after successfully slurve-ing the first alliance website, we turned out some sweet business cards/letterhead using the slick new logo:

i got to collaborate on a design for the hoodies our youth group will wear on our trip to Northern Ireland this summer. The image is based on Ephesians 3:17-21:

“so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Jenny is a published author! This book/program, ‘Finding Your Voice’, is amazing and if you don’t know about it, you really should! We got to slurve their site, and a special thanks to my nieces and nephews for posing so cute for the logo! check out the site.

salvation army: raise the roof

i’m excited be able to help out the salvation army as they prepare to finish construction on their new building in montclair. these will be 80″ x 24″ banners that will showcase the amazing services they provide to our neighborhood. the event took place May 8th, check the event photos here.

lhc: missions series

i was asked to help Long Hill Chapel in Chatham, NJ, create a series of print items for their missions conference this march. the main theme was ‘connect’: connecting people with missions both locally and overseas. to emphasize the theme, i created this puzzle piece logo, overlaying a map on a great stock photo of people putting a puzzle together…hope it blesses them!

my dear friend angela asked me to help come up with the artwork for her newest album. since this is an album full of songs representing angela’s journey through life, family & faith, we decided to incorporate some neat patterns from some of her grandma’s things. here is the cover:

slurve card

wow, we’ve really hit the big time, we have business cards that aren’t free from vista print…watch out world! these were really fun to design and we found a great co. that will print up cards on some sweet cardstock with a great finish and rounded corners. (i know the pic is aweful, but you get the idea and we love that the S really sticks out).

tank time

this was a whole new medium. i am no stranger to computers, ice cream cakes or coloring books, but when my dear friend asked if i could help construct a cake in the form of a tank using fondant, that was a whole new adventure! this was for bennett’s first birthday party, we’ve nicknamed him ‘tank’ since before he was even born…i think it came out fantastic (and yes, we did this before ace of cakes even thought about doing their tank! we think they stole the idea of the sparkler from us!)

i was asked to help a church redesign their logo, emphasizing their community impact…fun project, here are the two i liked best, the church went with the one with the house…

coffee and conversations

this was a fun little site to do for a friend out in chicago. they have a really neat coffee house ministry to bring to light the exploitation of children in africa and asia as well as the need for action in the AIDS crisis. we stayed pretty clean and basic with the site, but added some small graphic elements to make it pop a bit. check it out.c&C

down cellar

if you are from nj and haven’t been to downtown basking ridge, you’re really missing out! what a sweet little town.  in the midst of it, is this great little shop called down cellar, which we had the privilage of slurve-ing a site for.  one of the biggest needs was a digital version of the exsisting logo, which the shop owners mother had hand drawn when she ran the shop years back.  a tricky challenge, especially since the original was on lined color paper, but i think we got her a usable product and kept the integrity of the hand sketch:

one year after leaving his job, tom has gotten Slurve to really take off…to keep fresh (and add on his new star employee, yours truly) i created nice crisp new logo for Slurve. of course it may change in the reworking of the site, but this is the gist. the new site should be ready soon!

quito ‘08

this was a cool colaboration project between tom & i and the national office of the c&ma web team. they had given us the logo to work with and i created the header around it. tom finished it with all his fancy coding…love the way it came out, and think it’ll be a great event to boot! quito08.org quito 08 banner
